duophonic has been producing records and CDs in all common quantities and formats since 2002.
We produce LP pressings of 100 or more in our record pressing plant in Augsburg on two original Toolex Alpha presses.
In our mastering and vinyl cutting studio, we cut both dubplates and mastercuts for record pressing at the highest level and prepare your audio material specifically for the desired final format (analog/digital release).

THE PRESSING PLANT
In 2022, our vinyl record pressing plant was opened in a beautiful old hall on the historic site of the Industriepark Augsburg. Here, your records are pressed on our two original Toolex Alpha machines and then manually inspected and packaged by our quality control department. We recycle the production waste and offer you Recycling-Vinyl.

TOOLEX ALPHA 1202
Our historic Toolex Alpha machines from the mid-1970s have been lovingly restored and produce beautiful vinyl pressings every day. With 200 bar contact pressure, 180 °C hot steam and PVC granulate, a thin disc with grooves is pressed here.
THE STUDIO
Modern digital audio technology meets legendary equipment from the vinyl era in our three studios right next to Augsburg’s main railway station. On our self-modified vinyl cutting machines we realize one-off cuts and mini-series on a daily basis.
NEUMANN VMS 70
Our mastering studio is equipped with a Neumann VMS 70 cutting machine, which was extensively modified by Wilson Audio in 1993 to adapt it to modern requirements. It has been in our studio since 2006, where it was further optimized and thoroughly restored in collaboration with Charly Rottenkolber (CPP Studio). Since then, it has lent its incomparable sound to numerous pressings. We use a digital simulation of the mastercut to identify and eliminate potential problems before each transfer.
VINYLRECORDER T560
We have uniquely modified and automated our Vinylrecorders over two decades to ensure the highest precision and quality. We use this vinyl cutter to produce our custom-made vinyl dubplates. The modulated groove is cut into a black or transparent PVC blank in real time. The resulting unique pieces are in no way inferior to conventional pressed records in terms of quality and durability.
MASTERING EQUIPMENT
In addition to vinyl production, we also offer qualified audio mastering in our mastering studio.
The combination of trained ears, optimized room acoustics and selected digital and analogue equipment guarantees an optimal result.
